For your consideration today, we have a vintage 1950’s era Gibson ES style case. If you’re looking to compliment your vintage Gibson, these cases are a great way to do it.
This particular case has lost its manufacturer badge over the years, however, it’s a safe assumption that this one was originally sold at Hollywood’s own Fife & Nichols music store given the company’s badge inside the case. The case itself could certainly tell some stories as it shows a considerable amount of road rash on the outside (please see photos), but the inside is still in reasonably good condition for a case of its age.
All 5 latches are original and still work, albeit the locking latch does take a little play to seat properly. Everything else also appears to be original, including the handle which had been wrapped in electrical tape some years ago in order to help preserve the original handle material.
All in all, this is still a very viable case and would be a lovely compliment to a vintage Gibson in need of a case. Please reach out to us with any questions, we’re here to help!
**Please note - as with most gear and especially vintage/boutique gear, consideration should be given to natural wear & tear, patina, finish crazing and inevitable repairs/ restoration work. We do our best to disclose and depict these points in our description, photos and general listings. If you're interested in this instrument or any other of our listings, please feel free to reach out and ask for any additional information or photos that will help better clarify any questions or concerns that you may have.**
