Product description

Introduced in 2002, the AES820 was Yamaha's answer to the modern single-cut electric guitar.  Not a company to rest on their laurels, the instrument featured several upgrades that set the guitar apart what and earned the model a devoted legion of fans.  This included a unique 350mm radius, a recessed rear jack, 2 bottom bout strap buttons, a string-though body, and last but not least - custom Sperzel tuners.  It all added up to a distinctive playing experience that stood out in the crowd.

This particular AES820 (s/n: QI0169109, 8.2lbs) is in very good condition and features a series of upgrades that takes the instrument a few notches higher.

The original pickups have been replaced with a nice set of balanced Lollartrons.  These pickups are a nice addition to the instrument and are capable of a myraid of sounds thanks to the added de Lisle Pentatone switch that currently resides in the middle pot position.  This allows for tones similar to those of the Gibson Varitone switch and is really neat to play around with.

Lastly machine inserts for the bolt-on neck have been added to make the neck joint as stable as possible.

The body shows signs of use including scratches and buckle rash on the back of the instrument.  The hardware is in excellent shape and the electronics function as they should.

The frets show signs of use the are in very good shape overall with height to work with.  The back of the neck is clean and the fretboard is in excellent shape.  In addition the headstock is in excellent condition and the Sperzel tuners are a nice compliment to the instrument.

The sale of this guitar will include a nice Reunion Blues gig bag that is in excellent condition.

Whether you're a fan of the AES series or looking for a more modern style LP, this one is definitely worth a look.  Please reach out to us with any other questions!
