For the majority of the 1970’s, Fender’s Japanese built “F-Series” focused on staying true to more traditional designs and offering a comfortable and familiar guitar for a great price. The F-55-12 (1972-1980) was one of two 12-string models in the line and was constructed with a Spruce top, Bubinga back and sides, Mahogany neck, and Rosewood fingerboard. Given the quality to price ratio, they quickly became popular among the 12-string lovers of the 70’s.

This particular F-55-12 is in very good condition for a guitar of its age. The guitar does show some minor scratches and surface swirling throughout the body and has one larger scratch on the back that can be seen in certain light. There is some light finish checking around the treble side of the neck pocket, but it’s purely cosmetic. The back of the neck is very clean and is comfortable to play.
