Hailing from the final years of the CBS-era for Fender, the Version 2 Standard Stratocaster are adorned with several unique features that set them apart from other stratocasters of the time. Sporting only one tone knob, a non recessed input jack, and a top loaded Schaller bridge, the v2’s distinctive features represent a departure from the norm for Fender.
This V2 is finished in 3-tone Sunburst and the top and sides have wear typical of a guitar of its age. The back is fairly clean and has the absence of the spring cavity which is unique to these instruments.
The ‘V’ neck shape is fairly pronounced on the instrument. The back of the neck is fairly clean and the frets are tall and have plenty of life. The fretboard shows a fair amount of wear but it doesn’t affect the playability of the instrument (please see photos for the exact condition). The pickups have plenty of attack and complement the guitar well. The whammy bar is absent from the instrument.
The early 80’s were a unique time for the Strat and those who are into them really love these instruments. Please reach out to us with any questions!
