Music Therapy Rates
Music Therapy requires a consultation before signing up for recurring lessons. The consultation allows our Music Therapist, Meagan Hughes, to establish a course of direction and see if Music Therapy is a good fit for you. Rates are $35 per 30-minutes, for both the consultation and recurring session payments. For a typical 4-week month with 4, 30-minute sessions, the total will be $140. If there's a fifth weekday that month, the therapist will simply add another $35 to the total. We also offer 30, 60, and 90-minute sessions.
How Music Therapy Payments Work
Music Therapy sessions take place inside Baltimore Music Company and occur once a week at the same day and time with the same therapist. Teachers and Music Therapists at BMC are independent contractors so once you're signed up, payments and scheduling will done directly through our primary therapist, Meagan Hughes. Accepted forms of payment are cash, check, and debit/credit card (via Square).
Music Therapy payments are collected on a monthly basis during the week of the 21st to pay for the following month. For example, if you start sessions mid-January, you'll pay for the initial consultation and the rest of the month, if Music Therapy is a good fit for you. When it's the week of the 21st in January, you'll pay the therapist again for February. Payments are always done in advance.
To get started with Music Therapy, our Lesson/Music Therapy Coordinator will set you up with a teacher that best suits your criteria and availability. Once your consultation is set, you'll communicate directly to the therapist for cancellations, reschedules, and payments.
Cancellations, Reschedules, and Makeup Sessions
To cancel or reschedule a session that's already been paid for, contact your therapist. Typically your options will be do a makeup/rescheduled session, or apply the credit towards the following month*.
To cancel or reschedule a session that's NOT been paid for yet, still contact your therapist or notify them in person as soon as you're able. The therapist can attempt a makeup session, or just deduct it from that month's lesson tuition.
*Please note: Failure to provide timely notice for cancelling/rescheduling or no-shows will be charged at the full session rate.*
